SURPRISE SURPRISE :)
For the second time since college, my momma came spontaneously to deliver me some goodies and not tell me :) Here I am coming home from Unicamp meeting at like 1030pm and my sister calls me. Keep in mind, we NEVER talk on the phone—its usually through text. So already, I thought something was up and urgent.
But instead, its my momma! And she goes “come down! We’re here!”
Teeheeeheee, when I asked her why, she goes “We came to surprise you. Duh!”
asdfjkl; my momma is the cutest! she brought me some indonesian yummiezzzz to go in my tummyyyyy; my sister baked me some banana nut breadddd :D in both their defenses, it was because i couldnt come home this past weekend or the upcoming one.

Bittersweet Wifi
My laptop’s wifi has miraculously started working four weeks later!!!! Here I am at home being hopeful that maybe my laptop has felt sorry for me and decided to work again :)
It’s seriously.. been so long since I’ve been able to leisurely surf facebook, check emails and tumblr, find cool things on the web, etc.
On one hand, no internet access has really improved my relationships with other people as I invest more time trying to occupy myself with things to do; it helps me focus better in school, as I no longer had a reason to stay up because I couldn’t chat online, etc.
On the other hand, it has forced me to always borrow others’ laptops when I needed to check emails, arrange events, etc.
I can’t tell whether having the world at my hands again is a good thing or just a black hole I’m about to reenter.

Rupanya vs Pokanya
Last night I said that word “Apparently” and my mom had asked what it meant. I couldn’t think of the Hokkien or Mandarin equivalent to it, so I said “Rupanya” in Indonesian.
Rupanya = apparently
Pokanya = i have yet to find the exact translation to this word
Funny how ONE syllable makes a word completely different
I’ve always had a strong desire to learn Indonesian—to be able to speak it like a native; to be able to communicate with the rest (~90%) of my blood-related relatives; to be able to walk back to the motherland and understand the community I am stepping foot into.
Starting my senior year, I plan on picking up Indonesian; by then I will be… hexa-ligual, if that is even a word—being able to speak 6 different languages:
English, Mandarin, Hokkien, Japanese, Indonesian, Taiwanese (if that counts)
Language is a beautiful thing;

My hand seriously hurts from the past two days… just rewriting Chinese over, and over, and OVER. my whole arm actually feels sore. but at least from here on out, all my finals from this quarter simply consist of memorization from my notes, books, etc. no more writing! wooooo(:

Quick comfort fix for lunch today! :D
Ended class… somewhat earlier and decided to rush home and fry up some fish, brocolli, and ground beef. so yummmieeezzzz :)
AND THEN ! found out theres not quiz in my weekly discussions, no meeting, nada! hehehehhehe :D

As of 6:03PM today, I have withdrew from my ECNU summer abroad program. I can’t even describe how heavy my heart feels right now. With much regret, I say that I know it’s better in the long run..
